[Official Statement] Regarding the News Tomato Report Titled “Vice-Chair of People Power Party Central Committee Concurrently Served as Vice-Chair of Geunuhoe, a Shincheonji Front Organization”

The article reported by News Tomato titled “Vice-Chair of People Power Party Central Committee Concurrently Served as Vice-Chair of Geunuhoe, a Shincheonji Front Organization” is a distorted report based on false premises.

Lee Hee-ja, Chairperson of Korea Geunuhoe, is not a member of Shincheonji, nor has she ever been a member in the past. Furthermore, the claim that the corporate body Korea Geunuhoe is a front organization for Shincheonji is also not true.

Nevertheless, the article in question relies on groundless testimony and speculation to definitively label Geunuhoe as a “Shincheonji front organization,” distorting and framing specific individuals and the organization as if they were linked to Shincheonji Church of Jesus. This is merely an arbitrary interpretation that uses expressions such as “bridge role” and “circumstantial evidence” without any objective facts or verified data.

Narratives that arbitrarily link unverified claims from former members, indirect testimony, and mutually unrelated matters are clear false facts that have not undergone even the minimum fact-checking and cross-verification required of the media. This report is an unjust report that seriously defames the reputation of individuals and the organization and incites religious stigma and political misunderstanding.

Accordingly, Shincheonji Church of Jesus clearly states that it will take legal action against all acts of citing, reproducing, and expanding the dissemination of this false report.
